AWS’s US-East-1 went down yesterday, taking half the internet with it:

→ Snapchat, Fortnite, Amazon & Alexa

→ Coinbase, Robinhood, even airlines

→ Netflix buffering like it’s 2008

Over 6.5 million outage reports.

4 million users affected.

All because a DNS bug tripped one data center 🤷‍♂️

It’s funny until you realize how fragile this all is.

One glitch → hundreds of billions lost.

The cloud was supposed to make us resilient.

Instead, we centralized fragility.
