The company just launched “Digital Tasks,” where drivers (and soon maybe everyone) can earn money by uploading photos, recording short clips, or submitting documents in different languages.
Each micro-task pays around a dollar, and you can complete them anytime you’re not on the road.
It sounds like a new way to make side money. But really, what’s happening is Uber is turning its massive workforce into an AI training army - it’s all data used to train machine learning models.
Some are already arguing that Uber is paying far too little for work that feeds billion-dollar AI systems.
But yeah, people will earn a little extra. But the bigger picture is clear: we’re all slowly being recruited to build the very AI systems that could end up replacing human work.
What do you think?
